About Me

I live in Louisiana with my family and Jetty, my quaker parakeet.

Before law school, the majority of my time was spent reading and writing.

I started out as a science fiction writer. My first book, written when I was 12, was set in a post-apocalyptic world where no one had ever seen the sun.

I always did have a love for fantasy too, and over the years my writing evolved to include many other genres, not only fantasy, but horror and realistic fiction.

Becoming a professional author has always been my dream, and everything else comes second. I do, however, have many different interests. I love to draw and paint and make jewelry. I like playing Halo with my brother, Jake, and hanging out with my friends and playing horror video games, like Resident Evil.

My favorite movies are Secondhand Lions and What Dreams May Come. I'll watch any horror movie good or bad. I haven't found a movie or play adaption of the King Arthur story that I like yet.

I read The Once and Future King about once a year since I was 13, and I don't think I'll ever got tired of reading it.

I published my first book,  The Elementals, in January of 2013. I wrote it when I was 17. Although I had about 11 books already written, I chose the The Elementals because it felt the most relevant to me at the time. In the book, everyone expects the main character, a young woman named Sara, to follow a certain path. But Sara realizes that she must forge her own path. I think that this message not only speaks to me, but to a lot of people.
